INK BLENDING TRICK

I created a whip die-cut with the Cupcake Dies from Vanilla Malt cardstock and I die-cut another one but this time before die-cutting I adhered a masking tape on the top of the die-cut and run it through my die-cut machine. I peeled back the tape and used it as a mask on each level of the whip to create this 3D effect with ink blending. I have used brown ink for the edges of the whip as a shadow and the pink ink set for the blush. I repeat the same process once more for the other one as well.

Better craft photos are easier than you think. Start with 5 simple tips you can try today.

I also blended the adorable waffle heart die-cut with blending tool and brown ink, to bring it to life a bit. If you want to see the ridges from the die-cutting in the original cardstock color, use a regular blending tool instead of a blending brush. It makes a huge difference! :)

COLORING

When I saw the cup of the cupcake die from the Cupcake Sweet Stories Die Set I knew that I want to create a rainbow cup! So I grabbed my Tombow Markers and colored the lines in rainbow order. Very simple but so cute!

ADDING HIGHLIGHTS

The final touches always take your art to the next level. This is why I love to add those shiny details to my creations. They pop out the image more, and look at those eyes, the card is very sweet because of that! :) So a great white pen can make magic with your creations as well.

SENTIMENT

I stamped the "Birthday" word from the Make A Wish Sweet Stories Clear Stamps to a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with my Misti and watermark ink, then I heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. Then I repeated the same process with the "happy" word from the Some Bunny Sweet Stories Clear Stamps. Stamped on to a piece of purple cardstock called Purple Mist, then I heat embossed with white embossing powder.

WRAP UP

Finally I have adhered the die-cuts to their right place with Foam Squares, to give them 3D dimension, and I repeat the same with the sentiments as well.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

For all the three cards I have created my own pastel rainbow patterned cardstock with paper piecing. To achieve this beautiful pastel rainbow look I have trimmed 0.25” x 8.5” sized strips from ColorEssentials Cardstocks in the following shades: Pink Sand, Beeswax, Peridot, Waterfall, Purple Mist. Just a little note, if you like pastel colors like me, then I suggest you to try the mentioned cardstocks, I am sure you will love them!

For the first card I created cute desserts with the Party Cupcake Pocket  die-set. I Die-cut the yummy cocoa cupcakes from Portobello cardstock, then gave them a tasty vanilla topping with Alabaster cardstock. Because I wanted to give personality to the cupcakes, I run the sprinkle cookie from the The Cookie Corner Die-set and the flower shape from the Party Cupcake Pocket  through my die-cut machine with Timber cardstock, to create eyes and mouth.

Next, I have shorten the Party Cupcake Pockets a bit with scissors, to uncover the faces I created. As a decoration, I have created other small die-cuts and embellished them with it.  Next, I stamped the sentiment with watermark ink from the Sugar Coated Sentiments Stamp Set to a piece of Beeswax cardstock and heat embossed it.

I created the rainbow frame by using the Sweet Treat Box Dies. This is the negative part of the die-cut I have created and you will see that piece in my next project. I adhered Acetate to the frame, then I added Sweet Sprinkles inside it and adhered it to my light teal card base made from Waterfall cardstock. In the end I added highlights and sparkle effect with white pen.

For the next card I have used the previous leftover die-cut which I made with the Sweet Treat Box set. I also made on it a little window with the smallest die from the set and adhered on it a piece of acetate. Next, I created two pieces of white scalloped frames with the coordinating die from the Sweet Treat Box set. I placed yummy cookies to the box which I have created with the The Cookie Corner Die set.

For this process I have used Portobello, Timber and Alabaster Color Essentials Cardstocks. In the end I adhered the You Are Sweet sentiment and some clay sprinkles directly to the acetate window. You need to know that with the Bearly Art Craft Glue it was easier than you think!

For the third card I wanted to create a kind of flower-power card with a nice twist. Instead of colorful flowers I created white ones and to the background I placed all the leftover strips I have created earlier. The center of the flowers is the same then the background behind it.

I left a small empty space for the Happy Birthday Sentiment I have created with the Sugar Coated Sentiments set and I also added some cookie die-cuts to make the card more sweet.

I had so much fun with the Sweet Street collection, I hope you get a taste to play with this lovely set too! Thank you so much for joining me today, see you next time, Mona.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

For this project I will use this cupcake image from the Party Palooza Stamp Set, this macaron from the Sweet Stuff Stamp Set, the Mini Essential Die set as well as the Starry Rainbow Die. I stamped the images with Violet all-purpose craft ink, called Mardi Gras. I have used this color because I wanted to achieve a brighter look. Colorful outlines always help in that.

For the coloring I am using water based Pastel Tombow Brush Markers on Bristol smooth cardstock, but feel free to try it with any type of markers you have with the right cardstock. For the coloring and the full process be sure to check out the video here.

Once the coloring was done, I added highlights with white pencil and white pigment pen, then I run the images through my mini die-cutting machine with their coordinating dies. I have created two mini card fronts with the largest die from the Mini Essentials Dies from light pink and blue cardstock. I have also created rainbow with the Starry Rainbow Die and Heffy Doodle cardstock.

Next, I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the Party Palooza Stamp Set  to my card fronts with watermark ink, then I heat embossed it with white fine embossing powder. When it was done, I made a quick ink blending on the mini card fronts. I have used the Be Mine and It’s a Boy inkpad colors from the Spring Fling Mini set by Catherine Pooler. Next, I splattered on it with white, pink and blue watercolors and let them air dry.

In the end I just adhered everything together with different types of adhesives and put it to a 3 and ¾ by 5 and 7/8 card base which I folded in half. In the end I created one more die-cut with the Starry Rainbow Die, this time from white cardstock and used the small stars to embellish my card. Thank you so much for joining me, see you next time, have an amazing day, Mona.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

I started the cardmaking with die-cutting. I created heart shape die cuts in pastel colors with the smaller heart shape die from the All My Love set as well as light brown hearts with the larger one.

I have also created one more die-cut with the smaller heart die as a template for speeding up the stamping and heat embossing process. Then I stamped on the heart die-cuts with watermark ink and heat embossed with fine white embossing powder.

Next, I created shadows on the hearts with Distress Oxide Inks. I picked a slightly darker color then the current die-cut color. Check this process in the video here. When it was done, I have created the highlights too with white pencil and pen.

After this I adhered the heart die-cuts together and created the card base with the Peekaboo Windows and the Scallop Frames Slimline dies. These two dies work perfectly together. I have created a soft teal die-cut with the largest die from the Peekaboo Windows set. I made a quick ink blending on it through the Lattice Stencil with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink. After the ink blending, I splattered on it with clear water.

In the end I embellished the card with White Hearts Clay Confetti. It’s just a nice addition to the cards. And the slimline card was ready. Thank you so much for stopping by, see you next time. Hugs, Mona.

[VIDEO] Twist and Sprout Card with Coloring

Hello crafty friends, I am back with an another coloring video tutorial. Today I am going to show you how to create these Linzer biscuits with dies and alcohol markers. I encourage you to try it! It's much more easier then it looks like! You can find the video here. As always you can find the used supplies below the post.

For this project I am going to use various stamps and dies from Heffy Doodle. I have linked all the used supplies below the post. I stamped the image to a Neenah Solar White cardstock. I wanted to achieve a softer look for the stamping, so instead of a black inkpad, I have used one of my favorite brown inkpads, called Gingerbread, which is Copic and Spectrum Noir marker friendly as well. Just don’t forget to add a quick heat set before the coloring.

For the coloring I have used Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers, but you can make it with any other markers as well. For the coloring and the full process be sure to check out the video tutorial here. Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers Used: AG2, AG3, AG4, BT2, BT5, CG2, DG1, FS9, LG4, Blender.

Once the coloring was done, I added highlight’s with white pencil and white pigment pen. After the highlighting, I stamped these cute faces from the Pasta La Vista stamp set by Heffy Doodle with Leather Brown Inkpad, then I run them through my mini die-cut machine with their coordinating dies.

I also die-cut my own sentiment with stitched alphabetter dies from Hint Of Mint cardstock. Once the die-cutting was done, I just put all the letters to a masking tape, and made a quick inkblending on them with moved Lawn distress and distress oxide inks. Next I put all the parts together, the colored images and the sentiment as well. As you can see, I have also created and colored some additional small Heffy images for embellishing the card.

Be sure to check the video for the full tutorial with the extra tips and tricks. As always, you can find the used supplies below the post, and if you have any questions feel free to ask in a comment. Thank you so much for joining me, see you next time, have an amazing day, Mona

Heffy Friends Blog Hop

Hello lovelies and welcome to the Heffy Doodle Friends Blog Hop. Today I am showing you two card inspirations with the newest release, I hope you will enjoy that.

Do your projects look better in real life? Start with 5 simple ways to make your craft photos do them justice. 🎁 Get my free photo ebook for cardmakers and colorists here!

For my first inspiration I have mixed some new and oldie but goodie products too. I have created a super thin window shaker card with the Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frames Dies from 3D foam adhesive and from Simply Teal-icious cardstock. When it was done, I added to the shaker window teeny-weeny embellishments and put the “I Love You” sentiment what I have made with the I Love You Shadow Heffy Cut Dies. In the end I stamped the images with Treat Yo'Self Clear Stamps and Sweet Stuff Stamp set. When it was done, I colored them with my Copics and the shaker card was done.

For my second card I thought that I am going to play with my beloved Pasta La vista Stamp set. I have created the pasta background with stamping and made realistic pasta coloring on them. If you want to see the pasta coloring tutorial, check out my video here. When the coloring was done, I adhered the card front to the red background diecut and continued with the sentiment. I wanted to make something funny, so I made my own sentiment with 3D adhesive and Stitched Alphabetters Dies from the beautiful Cherry on top Cardstock. Once the alpha diecuts were done I styled and put my card together.

Few more inspirations what I have created with my favorite Pasta La Vista Stamp set:

Hope you have enjoyed my inspirations for today, see you next time and good luck in the giveaway! Mona
