Let's make a cute 3D Box Card

It's always exciting to try a new technique, or card type, so it was a joy to create this 3D card with the new Brooke 3D Box Card Die, what I made for the Heffy Doodle Insta Hop. (Hoppy hop 🐸😂) Come and join to hop along for the opportunity to win one of the gift cerfificates.

STAMPING AND COLORING

I started the cardmaking process with stamping. I inked the cute frog images from the Be Hoppy Clear Photopolymer Stamps with Jet Black inkpad to Neenah Solar White Cardstock, then I gave them a little heat set with my heat gun, to fix the ink on the cardstock. After a heat set, I started the coloring process with Ohuhu markers.

POP-UP CARD BASE

When the coloring was done, I created the diecuts with the Brooke 3D Box Card Die from Mermaid cardstock. I also made a few die-cuts with the Freshly Cut Grass Dies with Cilantro cardstock. Next, I created some stitched Die-cuts from Neenah Solar White Cardstock and made on it a quick inkblending with Kitsch Flamingo and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. That's what you see in the background and on the sides of the card.

SENTIMENT

Before I put the colored critters to my box, I created the sentiment to the background. I created the "HOPPY" text with the new Moxie Alphabet Dies and I also stamped the sentiment from the Be Hoppy Clear Photopolymer Stamps with watermark ink. After this I heat embossed it with white fine embossing powder on a black cardstock.

WRAP UP

Last but not the least, the colored images found their place. Thank you so much for stopping by, don't forget to join the IG hop fun by April 27, 2023 at 11:59 PM EDT

TEXTURED BACKGROUND

The heart of this card is this beautiful textured background what I have created with the new Tiny Flowers Cover Die. To achieve this texture I wet a 5.5" and 4.25" piece of  Speckled Egg Cardstock  with a water sprayer on both sides. Then I fixed it with craft tape to the Tiny Flowers Cover Die

When it was done, I placed it on my Platinum Six Platform with the cardstock facing up, then I put on the top of it the Tan Embossing mat and the Embossing Plate and run it through my die-cut machine. I decided to use the back of the dry embossed cardstock, because when I saw it I just had to! It looks like a very expensive luxury cardstock! What do you think?

STAMPING AND COLORING

I stamped the cute images from Spring Bunnies Stamp Set with Crunchy Leaf Inkpad to have softer edges. Next I colored them with Ohuhu Markers. I have picked only light colors to keep the figures soft and because they are smaller images, they don't need a super detailed coloring and they look beautiful after a quick coloring too.

Once the it was done, I added highlights with White Gelly Roll Pen. When it was dry I run them through my die-cut machine with their coordinating dies.

SENTIMENT

Okay, this way my favorite part! I can't tell you, how happy I am for this stamp and die combo! It's absolutely awesome! I stamped the Expressing Gratitude stamp set to a piece of Sunflower cardstock with my Misti and watermark ink, then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder

Next I placed on top of it the Expressing Gratitude Sentiments Die and run it through my die-cut machine. And I got 17 die-cuts at once! Super time saving and mind blowing! And the sentiments are talking to my heart as well.

WRAP UP

In the end I created two visual blocks for the images which I have adhered with foam squares and liquid adhesive, then I placed the sentiment to the center of it. Finally I adhered the card front to a heavy card base what I have created with 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. For the card panel idea I was inspired by my talented friend, Yana Smakula. I really love her clean designs.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I will show you another inspiration soon on my Instagram with the Fantasy Flowers Die Set, this die set is my favorite piece from this release. You can find a little sneak peek about my upcoming card above. It was a joyful moment when I worked on that card and I am curious what you will say. And now I am wishing you happy blog hopping and good luck as well.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock and the first stencil from the Layered Butterflies Stencil and blended through it with Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks to get this soft rainbow look as a background. Next, I followed with the second stencil and repeated the same ink blending process, but this time with Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks, which are a bit darker color then the previous ones.

With the last stencil I have used Gold Glitz Glitter Gel to add a bit bling to the butterflies. After this process I washed the stencil immediately and let the background dry. While it was drying I created the HUGS sentiment with the Coordinating Dies of the hugs stamp. I have created multiple diecuts of the letters and adhered them together to get this bold layered look. When the background was dry I layered the card and put it together. I embellished it with cute tiny flowers from the Hugs Stamp and I have also cut out a few butterflies to get this lovely look. 😍

I will show you another inspiration soon on my Instagram with the new release, this pinwheel die is oh so fabulous isn't it? I will have a surprise game on my Instagram stories soon too so if you like games, don't miss it! 💖

Pretty Pink Posh May 2021 release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi crafty friends! Welcome to day 3 of the Pretty Pink Posh May Blog Hop! This release is a pure joy so instead of one inspiration I have more in coastal mood. I am really curious which is your favorite so if you have time, please let me know in your comment on my blog.

THIS PROJECT FEATURES

Do you enjoy this inspiration? I really appreciate if you pin this photo to your Pinterest.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

The main idea for these cards was to create that coastal mood with boats, anchors and the typical blue, turquoise, brown white coastal color combo. When I saw the Flower Bouquets and Nautical Stamp Sets I already knew that these will be perfect for this mood too.

First I created the backgrounds. I just trimmed them at 0.5" like the white textured wood cardstock to create a wood wall effect or at 0.25 to have stripes in random colors. If you don't like to measure and cut the cardstock all the time, but you love this look, then the Simple Strips Die Set is definitely for you!

For my third card I decided to create a dry embossed background, so I inked up my Pretty Petals Stencil
with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink, and run it through my Die-cut machine with a blue cardstock on the top of Tan rubber mat. The result is a cool dry embossed net looking background. When the backgrounds were done, I styled and layered them in different way. To the third one I created a shaker window as well, the Stitched Gift Card Holders Dies and the leftover die-cut I have used as a layering card.

USED COLORS

The next step was the coloring. I stamped the images from the Flower Bouquets and Nautical Stamp Sets with brown inkpad and colored them with alcohol markers. For the coastal color palette I have used the following colors from Spectrum Noir Illustrators: GY3, CT4, CT3, CT1, CG1, CG2, AG2, GT1, GT2, BT1, BT2, BT3, IB1, IB2, IB3, TN1, FS6, FS9, RB1, RB2, RB3, BG1, Blender. Classique: BG05. For the color comparison charts for brands of Markers visit Kit and Clowder.

When the coloring was done I created the sentiments with heat embossing. I have also created a pretty blue die-cut with the You Are Special Script Die. In the end I styled my cards and put them together.

Thank you so much for stopping by, don’t forget to check this beautiful release, it's truly amazing! And when you support a small business, you support a dream! Enjoy the hop! Hugs, Mona.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

For all the three cards I have used different watercolor washes. For these watercolor techniques I have used Art Essentials palettes by Jane Davenport to get this bright happy look.

For the first card I painted rainbow stripes with bright watercolor shades and a 14-size flat watercolor brush, then I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. Next, I stamped the floral images with watermark ink from the Fragrant Flowers Clear Stamp Set  to a piece of vellum, and heat embossed it. In the end I added highlights and sparkle effect with white pen.

For the next card I created a distressed rainbow look to the background. I wet the watercolor paper and I did stippling on it with a 14-size rounded watercolor brush. I started with purple color and added the other colors to create this effect. Once it was dry, I stamped on it the sentiment with watermark ink, then I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. In the end I added colorful water-colored florals which I have created with the Beauty in Bloom Clear Stamp Set and white embossing powder.

For the third card I have created a rainbow gradient wash with purple, pink, orange, yellow, green and blue colors. Once it was dry, I splattered on it with white watercolor. Once this was also dry, I stamped on it with Field of Flowers Clear Stamp Set and watermark ink, then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I have also heat embossed the sentiment too, but with gold embossing powder instead of white. In the end I stamped a few more flowers to the background with watermark ink.

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you get a taste to play with these amazing watercolor florals! See you next time. Hugs, Mona.
